undeconstructed procreativity

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

I have always enjoyed walking past a construction site everyday, watching the soil being dug, the foundations laid, trying to guess which parts are for earthquake protection and which are to simply make it stand. Oftentime ultimately I am disappointed by the final result: a plain thing, evidently created more as a house where landlords can find more comfort than tenants, with their false brick façades and kitchens in the entrance hallway.
Occasionally this is not the case, but more often than not I far enjoyed having the development site to catch my eye.
In this spirit, I am building this, my website, entirely in public. As I do not, and do not entirely intend to, code for a living, the process will be slow and frought with loose wiring and girders that support nothing, and the occasional collapse.

I hope you enjoy watching it come together as much as I am.

YUCK

Gutted the CSS file for overhaul.

Things should look half-constructed again in a few hours. tomorrow.

Not that anoyone’s reading yet, anyway.

Edit:
Okay Google Analytics tells me that’s not quite true, and the occasional person is stopping by to poke around for half a second. If that’s you, then… hello!

pattern consumption

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Regarding the previous two posts:

I have been keeping two sketchbooks, one for experiments in patterns using Prismacolor markers on a square-grid system, the other for typographical interpretations of whatever film or book I just finished consumption of, using a black Pentel pen.

There is a backlog. Expect consumed material to update with greater frequency until I get caught up to present day, at which point updates will depend on the frequency of consumption and the complexity of the typography I am attempting.
